Obituary for Caroyl Radford

Print
Caroyl Lyn Radford, 66, of Wichita, KS, left this earth to join her soul mate and our Heavenly Father on November 22, 2018.
Caroyl was born on November 22, 1952 in Wellington, KS to Melba (Williams) Hunt and Daniel Hunt and graduated Wellington High School in 1970.
In 1978, she began her 15-year career with Southwestern Bell as a Service Order Completion Clerk, where she met the love of her life, Quinn Radford. They were married in 1981 and spent 12 blissful years together traveling to Caroyl’s favorite places in the Ozarks, spending family time in their backyard swimming pool and simply enjoying love and life. After much persuasion, she accepted an early retirement package from SWB to become a “housewife” in April of 1993. Only a few weeks later Quinn was diagnosed with cancer, which led to his untimely death in July of the same year.
Caroyl lived with a broken heart since his death, yet her smile and sense of humor continued to shine. She was an interregnal part in her eldest granddaughters younger years, educating her on DNA testing with the help of the Maury Show, introducing her to Leprechauns and how badly they wanted their gold back and educating her on homicides, investigations and the mob, led by her crush, Jon Gotti.
She never failed to include a happy memory or funny story about Quinn each day and those who had never even met him knew of him quite fondly after a day at the pool. Thanks to Caroyl, he continued to live in our hearts and will never be forgotten. Their happiness was an inspiration to all and reminded us that true love does exist.
Caroyl is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Quinn Radford, her mother, Melba (Williams) Black, her father, Daniel Wayne Hunt and brother, Rick Hunt.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Clark, of Wichita; her son, Jonathan Buster, (Jamie) of Wichita; her twin sister, Cheryl Rader (Lloyd) of Wichita; two beautiful granddaughters, Tyra Lyn Clark (21) and Sophia Rose Buster (11 mo.); a step-son she thought of as her own, Jason Buster (Angee MacMurray); her favorite niece, Danielle Demint (Mike); and a nephew, Chris Rader (Jennifer).
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, November 29, 2018 at Smith Family Mortuaries - Derby, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, KS 67037, with visitation at 11:00 AM. Graveside service immediately following at Mulvane Cemetery.
