Obituary for Robert "Todd" Broughton

Robert “Todd” Broughton passed away on April 10, 2019, in Wichita, after recently being ill with the flu. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca, Wichita, Ks. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Todd was born to Bob and Sue Broughton in Chicago, IL on Christmas Day 1966. Growing up, Todd loved sports; he played baseball and especially enjoyed and excelled at high school football. He graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1985 and went to K-State, there he completed his Bachelor of Science in History. He went on to earn an MBA, as well as become certified in Lean Six Sigma. He was a talented and valued 12-year member of the Textron Aviation family. His most recent accomplishments as a Process Engineer included designing and implementing facilities to support the SkyCourier and Longitude aircrafts.

Todd had a unique zest for life that will be missed. He loved to make others laugh and our family always looked forward to his quirky gifts. He spent his lifetime learning and was an avid WWII buff. He recently took the flight of a lifetime in a WWII B29, “Doc”. His favorite pastimes were his 2 golden retrievers, Abbie and Ollie, restoring muscle cars, woodworking, DYI, the Chiefs, K-State, and spending time with Tiffany, his long-time close friend.

Todd is survived by his mother and her husband, Sue and Steve Hoffman, Salina, KS, his father and his wife, Bob and Judy Broughton, Salina, KS, his sister and her husband, Jill and Clay Schnittker, Lenexa, KS and his 3 nephews: Max, Wichita, KS, Alec, and Jack Schnittker, Lenexa, KS, and close friend, Tiffany Welch, Wichita, KS.
